Pressure relief valves are devices designed so that they open to vent any pressure higher than the relief valve’s operating set point. No matter the type of boiler or high-pressure piping systems that you use in your business, safety valves are a crucial part of their mechanisms.

It's recommended that with any type of safety valve no matter how frequently it's used that they are tested every 12 months, and repaired/replaced every three to five years if not more often depending on the results of testing.

AS 1210, which is the design code standard for high-risk pressure vessels which are commonly found on petroleum, gas, mining and drilling sites, every pressure vessel installed must have a safety valve attached to it to prevent the pressure from rising more than 110% of the vessels design pressure.

A common problem for owners and controllers is tags get lost, tarnished or are never put on. A tag on the PSV/PRV is required which states the test pressure, test date and due date at minimum. Q-Riims make it easy supplying new or replacement tags for industry anytime you need them.
